Welcome and hello to you ........

On 20 May 2008, the Global Environment Facility (GEF) provided formal approval to the launching of a project entitled Adaptation to Climate Change in the Nile Delta through Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM). The overall aim of the project is to enhance Egypt’s resilience and reduce vulnerability to climate change impacts. The specific objective of the project is to integrate the management of SLR risks into the development of Egypt’s Low Elevation Coastal Zone (LECZ) in the Nile Delta through capacity strengthening to improve resilience of coastal settlements and development infrastructure, innovative and environmentally friendly adaptation measures within a Nile Delta ICZM framework, and a knowledge management plan to document lessons learned and best practices for climate change adaptation responses.
